Educational Theatre in Nepal, in collaboration with Ward 26 Lainchour, Thamel, is coordinating a five-day expressive arts program. In this program, ETN uses drama, visual storytelling, painting, and musical methods to teach students various subjects. The workshop runs from 10 AM to 4 PM on school premises, involving students , teachers and parents.
Below are the participating schools and their activities:
Day 1 – Lokhit Basic School, Thamel: Students mapped seven countries and learned unique cultural aspects from each, traveling from China to Germany, Antarctica, and more. This activity brought continents to life through vibrant storytelling.
Day 2 – Pragya Secondary School, Samakhushi: Students crafted flags and explored global travel routes. Along the way, they learned about diverse continents and cultures.
Day 3 – Janaknath Memorial Higher School, Lainchaour: Ninth-graders dramatized environmental issues, like deforestation and jungle fires, gathering insights on Nepal’s land and water.
Day 4 – Pascal Academy, Samakhushi: Students depicted village life before and after the earthquake, weaving in local heritage through scenes of water collection and traditional dance.
Day 5 – Shanti Bidhya Griha, Lainchaur: Wrapping up with a play based on social studies, students celebrated Nepali traditions, dance, and food, sparking pride in their cultural heritage.
